Engadget just released some "leaked" specs of the Palm Treo800w.
Looking at the new Treo800w, you have the impression to see a Treo700/750w with Wifi. The battery life is not yet known, and if only it had the autonomy of the Treo650 (5 or 6 days with my usage at that time).

I lost my Treo 750 in a Parisian cab last year. Hopefully, it was protected by EveryWAN Secure Device, so that I did not bother for sentitive information.
That was my last Palm device, and the 800w may have been my next, if it wasn’t just a year too late for this device. A Pocket PC with a touch screen that you can’t use with your thumb because of the angle between the screen and the case: you can’t touch the edges and can’t close this little black cross in the upper right corner without a stylus. So 2007 !
I was a huge Palm fan, I had to hide my Treo650 (running PalmOS) when meeting with Microsoft before I got a 750w: the first Windows Mobile device from Palm to hit the French market… I feel that HTC or Samsung both ship smartphones that are far more competitive today. The Samsung i780 or the HTC Touch Diamond are more likely to compete with the likes of iPhone or BlackBerries. The Treo800w will probably still be a nice device with the usual ease of use that Palm infuses in its devices. So you may consider it, if you are looking for a Pocket PC with a keyboard at a fair price.
What do you think of this new Windows Mobile device from Palm ?
