It took me some time to figure out how to hard reset the Samsung SGH-i780.

Here’s how:

  • Ensure that the SGH-i780 has enough battery (or put it on charger).
  • Turn the SGH-i780 completely off (by pressing and holding the Power ON/OFF button for a long time)
  • Press Send/Call (green) + End (red) and hold. Press Power On and hold the three of them.
  • Wait until you see the led flash and then a menu with 2 items:
    1. Format and Reboot
      Press Space
    2. skip
      Press any other key
  • Press space on keyboard
  • Wait (can be long) until the device has finished erasing and rebooting.
