Sparus Software invests in the U.K. to expand its international business

Sparus Software has entered the UK market to respond to the growing demand for secure, manageable mobile business solutions. Building upon widespread adoption by blue-chip customers in France, Sparus will bring its unique and innovative perspective to the challenge of supporting large-scale field-based line of business mobile application deployments, as well as the management & security of IBM Lotus mobile collaboration & Unified Communications offerings.

Sparus UK business development is managed by Bob Apollo based in Reading, Berks, UK. Bob has over 12 years in mobile enterprise, most notably with XcelleNet: as COO he led XcelleNet’s worldwide field organisation to a market leadership position in mobile device management, and annual revenues of more than $40m before its acquisition by Sybase/iAnywhere; Bob has also held global executive-level roles with Dexterra and Intellisync, and whilst at XcelleNet built close relationships with the Microsoft Windows Mobile team. More recently, Bob has worked in interim roles at Cognito, a leading UK mobile enterprise player and with Aspective, a Vodafone company.

Sparus Software’s UK business development strategy will be to leverage its existing business partnerships with global players in the mobility marketplace, including IBM Lotus, Microsoft, Zetes, Steria, Motorola, Intermec and Psion-Teklogix, as well as developing local relationships with leading UK mobile enterprise application providers.
